Terms of Service (ToS)

1. Purpose

EducTime connects learners (“students/clients”) and tutors (“teachers/coaches”) and hosts educational content. These ToS govern access to the site and services (booking, content/doc purchases, messaging, recommendations, etc.). Creating an account means you fully accept these ToS.

2. User account

• You first register as a student. Switching to teacher happens later via the “Become a teacher” flow.
• You guarantee the accuracy of your information and keep your credentials confidential.
• EducTime may suspend/delete accounts in case of abuse, fraud, illegal content, or ToS breach.

3. Services

• Recommendations: you allow EducTime to use your info (profile, preferences, activity) to suggest relevant courses/teachers/content.
• Personal notes: your notes are private and not shared with third parties or teachers, unless explicitly stated.
• Messaging: be polite and lawful; unsolicited commercial messages are forbidden.

4. Purchases, payments, and documents

• Payments are handled by a provider (e.g., Stripe). EducTime does not store card data.
• When you purchase a document/training from a teacher, your email and the information strictly needed to deliver the service may be shared with that teacher for follow-up (e.g., asking for a review). No other sharing is performed for this purpose.
• Purchased content is protected by copyright. Any unauthorized distribution/resale is prohibited.

5. Intellectual property

EducTime’s trademarks, logos, and assets, as well as teachers’ content, are protected. You get a personal, non-exclusive right of use; any unauthorized reproduction/exploitation is prohibited.

6. Personal data (GDPR)

EducTime is the controller for platform operations. For teachers’ sales, teachers act as controllers for their own client relationship.

6.1 Purposes and legal bases

• Account, purchases, bookings, messaging: contract performance.
• Educational recommendations and service improvement: legitimate interest; you can opt out in your account.
• Invoicing, anti-fraud: legal obligation/legitimate interest.
• Optional communications (news/offers): consent (opt-in).

6.2 Data processed

Identity, contact, account data, preferences, in-service activity, purchase and messaging history; EducTime stores no card data.

6.3 Recipients

• Technical/payment providers (hosting, Stripe), strictly to deliver the service.
• Teachers: when you buy their content/training, sharing limited to your email and info needed for delivery/follow-up.

6.4 Retention

• Account: duration of use + 3 years of inactivity.
• Accounting records: 10 years.
• Technical logs: as required for security/compliance.

6.5 Your rights

Access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, portability. To exercise: [email protected]. You may also contact your data protection authority.

6.6 Cookies

Essential cookies (security, session) are required. Analytics/marketing cookies only with consent (banner).

6.7 Minors

If under the applicable age of consent (e.g., 15 in France), parental authorization is required.

7. Liability

EducTime connects users and provides tools. Teachers are responsible for content and educational quality. EducTime does not guarantee academic success. In case of technical downtime, reasonable efforts will be made to restore the service.

8. Suspension / termination

In case of ToS breach, fraud, or user safety risk, EducTime may suspend or terminate accounts, with prior notice when possible.

9. Governing law

French law applies. Failing an amicable resolution, competent courts will be seized.
